Dallas Cowboys backup quarterback Tony Romo will have a lot of options this offseason. Many NFL teams need an upgrade at the quarterback position.
But among those options, it would appear retirement is also an option according to Bryan Broaddus, a reporter for the Cowboys’ official website.
@BryanBroaddus you really think Romo retiring is an option?

Following the team’s divisional playoff loss to the Green Bay Packers, owner Jerry Jones indicated trading Romo would be a No. 1 priority. Romo will be one of hottest commodities on the market this offseason. This is unless he takes the retirement option, as Broaddus mentions.
But it doesn’t appear that Romo is ready to hang up his cleats just yet. He will draw interest from the growing handful of teams that would view him as an improvement over their existing quarterbacks. We covered some potential landing spots for Romo last season.
Romo turns 37 this April and has dealt with multiple injuries over the past few seasons. He makes for a viable starting quarterback now. But, one more nasty fall could mark the end of the road for him, which likely will impact his potential trade value.
Surely, fans of Romo will be waiting to hear what will happen next, as will we.
