One of the week’s top matchups has already yielded a big play. Brock Osweiler and DeAndre Hopkins beat Marcus Peters, connecting on an early touchdown pass for the Houston Texans against the Kansas City Chiefs.

This is an great sign for Houston early in this game.
As far as immediate dividends go, it gave the Texans a 7-0 lead. That’s important against anyone, especially a tough team like the Chiefs.
On a more long-term level, it’s a sign that this team might have a vertical passing game. Remember, it was only last January when Houston was embarrassed by Kansas City 30-0 in the playoffs. So far, the offseason additions — spearheaded by the signing of Osweiler — seem to be paying off.
