The Kansas City Chiefs played without star running back Jamaal Charles last week. And it would appear they must prepare to do the same in Week 2.
Charles has been listed as “doubtful,” according to NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport.
#KCChiefs RB Jamaal Charles has been declared “doubtful” for Sunday’s game. Two weeks in a row.

Charles has been practicing but only on a limited basis due to the knee injury sustained in Week 5 last season. At this time, the Chiefs have no reason to rush Charles back into action. Running back Spencer Ware tore up the field last week when he combined for 199 yards and scored a touchdowns in the season opener.
When Charles is at 100 percent, he is capable of the same type of performance. But, as time goes by, and if Ware keeps up with his level of play, Charles may eventually find himself sitting in the backseat.
Health preservation must come into play for Charles who will turn 30 in December. Unfortunately, this report on Charles is not exactly one his fantasy football owners want to hear.
Ware is slated to start again if Charles misses the upcoming game against the Houston Texans.
