Jacksonville Jaguars running back Chris Ivory was hospitalized on Saturday night, and he missed the team’s first game of the season.
He is still in the hospital on Tuesday and is being treated for what the team has called a “general medical issue,” per Adam Schefter of ESPN. He also reports the team expects to know more in the next 48 hours.
A multiple-day stay at a hospital indicates something serious might be going on, though we are in no position to speculate what that might mean.
Head coach Gus Bradley spoke about the situation on Monday.
“I talked to him before [we went to the hospital] and I talked to him afterward,” Bradley said, per the Florida Times-Union. “He was down, obviously, not being able to play in the game and afterward. He just wants to get better.”
Our thoughts and prayers are with Ivory and his family while he remains hospitalized and recovers from whatever is ailing him at this time.
