It’s a pretty shocking turn of events for Clemons and the Seahawks. The veteran was expected to fill the void left by Bruce Irvin as a pass-rush specialist for Seattle.
Clemons, 34, recorded 14 tackles, three sacks and a forced fumble in 16 games (seven starts a season ago. This came on the heels of him putting up eight sacks for the Jacksonville Jaguars the previous season.
The former Georgia standout had planned on returning to Seattle after playing four seasons and recording three double-digit sack campaigns with the squad earlier this decade.
With Clemons now reportedly out of the mix, the Seahawks will likely turn to second-year player Frank Clark to perform at a high clip this upcoming season.
