Buffalo Bills head coach Rex Ryan seems to be taking the “go big or go home” approach with his new team this season.
When addressing the media on Tuesday, Ryan said he doesn’t expect anything less than achieving playoff status during the 2015 season. Per Vic Carucci of The Buffalo News, Ryan said:
“We definitely expect to be in the playoffs. We have a good team.”
The Bills offense has plenty of talented playmakers, such as LeSean McCoy, Percy Harvin (when healthy), Sammy Watkins and Charles Clay. Additionally, Buffalo boasts a strong defense led by linemen Marcell Dareus, Mario Williams, Kyle Williams and Jerry Lewis.
We all know the giant elephant in the room is the Bills’ lackluster crew of quarterbacks, which include up-and-coming Tyrod Taylor, veteran Matt Cassel and third-year gunslinger E.J. Manuel—who is hanging on by his boot straps simply to keep a job in Buffalo.
Overall, the pieces are there in Buffalo. However, Ryan’s big aspirations to edge out their AFC east competition in the New England Patriots and Miami Dolphins will test the Bills this season.
Success starts with a positive attitude, something which Ryan has had no shortage of since signing on in Western New York.
