Kyrie Irving Leaves Game 1 of NBA Finals with Knee Injury

Just when it looked like Cleveland Cavaliers guard Kyrie Irving was about to get healthy, this happens. After playing stellar basketball for four quarters and some change in Game 1 of the NBA Finals, Irving pulled up lame in overtime and didn’t return to the game.

By the looks of the injury, it looks like Irving’s knee is ailing him:

He was also seen with a noticeable limp immediately after that play:

The extent of the injury is not yet known, but it doesn’t look good based on reports from those on the scene in Oakland.

Remember, Irving missed two of the Cavaliers four games in the Eastern Conference Finals. If he’s not able to return in the Finals, especially after Cleveland fell to the Golden State Warriors in Game 1, it’s going to be incredibly hard for his team to overcome the juggernaut that is the Warriors.

Irving scored 22 points, grabbed seven rebounds and dished out six assists in the losing effort on Thursday night.

Let’s all hope the injury isn’t serious.
