Veteran wide receiver Greg Jennings became a free agent after being released by the Minnesota Vikings following the Mike Wallace trade last week.
According to reports by NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport, Jennings visited and took a physical for the Carolina Panthers on Saturday. At this time, Jennings has not been signed. Should he and the Panthers strike a deal, Jennings would fill a gaping need for a receiver to play opposite second-year receiver Kelvin Benjamin.
Over his two seasons in Minnesota, Jennings tallied 1,546 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns. His best stretch as a pro was with the Green Bay Packers, where he posted three straight 1,000-yard seasons and hauled in 25 touchdowns from 2008 to 2010.
Cam Newton would be the best quarterback with whom Jennings has played since his days donning Green and Yellow, so if he signs with Carolina, his production could take an upswing.
