An upcoming matchup against the Green Bay Packers at the Frozen Tundra will test the abilities of Dallas Cowboys running back DeMarco Murray.
It could also be his last game with the Cowboys.
Should the end of the road come this weekend against Green Bay, the Cowboys have some major decisions when it comes to both Murray and their top wide receiver Dez Bryant, who are both up for new contracts.
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has indicated that the team will use its franchise tag on Bryant should the two sides fail to come to an agreement on a long-term extension before free agency.
Due to salary cap issues, it’s going to be very difficult for the Cowboys to be able to re-sign Murray and Bryant to the long-term deals that both deserve.
Murray finished the regular season with 1,845 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns. He certainly has the bragging rights to state his case for a major contract whether it be with Dallas or another team that may pursue him.
For now, Murray and the Cowboys’ primary focus is to claim another victory and to proceed to conference championship game against either Carolina or Seattle.
