It took until the 15th pick on Thursday night for a trade to go down. That happened with the first pick on Friday night, as the Tennessee Titans traded the 33rd pick to the New York Giants for three picks, including the 40th overall selection.
With that 33rd pick, the Giants made the logical decision to select former Alabama safety Landon Collins.
Collins is coming off of a terrific 2014 college season where he produced 60 solo tackles and three interceptions. Likely not to be used for one-on-one coverage, Collins should do an adequate job in confronting larger blockers and forcing running backs to move back inside.
With the ability to play linebacker, Collins should be a versatile asset for the Giants secondary.
