It didn’t take the Golden State Warriors too long to upgrade at an important position in the backcourt. According to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports, they have signed former Brooklyn Nets guard Shaun Livingston to a contract.

Livingston started 54 games for the Brooklyn Nets last season, averaging 8.3 points, 3.2 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game. He was originally the fourth overall pick of the Los Angeles Clippers back in the 2004 NBA draft.
After an injury riddled first six seasons in the NBA, Livingston was healthy enough to play an important role on the then Charlotte Bobcats back in 2010-2011. Now that his injury issues are behind him, Livingston could end up being an important role player for the up-and-coming Warriors. He will likely back up at both guard positions.
It was reported earlier today that the Warriors were looking for a backup point guard. Livingston fits that role to a T.
According to Wojnarowski, it’s a three-year deal worth $16 million with a partial guarantee for the final season.
