Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Josh Beckett, who has dealt with injuries for years now, pitched the first no-hitter of the MLB season and the first for the Dodgers since Hideo Nomo accomplished the feat back in 1996.

The Philadelphia Phillies, who fell victim to Beckett’s stuff today, don’t necessarily have a high-powered offense. Beckett struck out six and walked three while face the minimum of 27 batters in a tremendous 128-pitch performance.
The most surprising aspect of this no-hitter is that Beckett accomplished it at Citizens Bank Park, one of the most hitter-friendly ballparks in baseball.
