Since the first round of the NFL draft is in the books, some teams are ready to get to where it really matters, the second and third rounds.
In these rounds, teams find players that have “slipped through the cracks” of the first round, and some diamonds in the rough are found. Who are they going to be this year?
Keep in mind, we can never accurately predict what is going to happen, but we can do our best to express what should happen. That is why a mock draft is so fun.
Without further ado, the second round of the 2014 NFL draft.
Note: Vincent Frank will be providing third-round projections a tad later.
33. Houston Texans
Derek Carr, Quarterback, Fresno State
Derek and David become a set of brothers to play for the exact same team at the exact same position. Expect Derek to have more success than David though, as his offensive line is a lot better.
34. Washington Redskins
Morgan Moses, Offensive Tackle, Virginia
The Redskins need help protecting Robert Griffin III. And Moses is the best available offensive tackle left on the board.
35. Cleveland Browns
Jordan Matthews, Wide Receiver, Vanderbilt
After adding Justin Gilbert and Johnny Manziel in the first round, the Browns come out firing in the second with Matthews to pair with Josh Gordon.
36. Oakland Raiders
Marqise Lee, Wide Receiver, Southern California
Cannot believe Marqise Lee wasn't a first-round pick. Maybe not a No. 1, but that guy will start and produce in the league for a decade.

The Raiders add another receiver to the stable of pass-catchers for Matt Schaub.
37. Atlanta Falcons
Demarcus Lawrence, Defensive End, Boise State
After adding an offensive lineman in the first, the Falcons add the best defensive end left on the board in the second.
38. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Cyrus Kouandjio, Offensive Tackle, Alabama
After losing Donald Penn to the Raiders, Tampa adds Kouandjio who can start right away.
39. Jacksonville Jaguars
Ra’Shede Hageman, Defensive Line, Minnesota
Gus Bradley adds another toy to his already impressive arsenal of defensive players. Hageman can play anywhere on the defensive line.
40. Seattle Seahawks
Louis Nix III, Defensive Tackle, Notre Dame

The rich get richer with Nix, who could be the best nose tackle in the draft. The Seahawks get good value in their trade-back with Minnesota.
41. Buffalo Bills
Jack Mewhort, Offensive Tackle, Ohio State
The Bills have given Manuel every weapon he could possibly want, now they are adding protection.
42. Tennessee Titans
Jeremiah Attaochu, Defensive End/Outside Linebacker, Georgia Tech
After missing on Anthony Barr in the first, the Titans add one of the better pass rushers in the draft in the second round.
43. New York Giants
Joel Bitonio, Offensive Tackle, Nevada
The Giants took Odell Beckham in the first round yesterday, but Bitonio may be their best pick of the first two rounds as far as needs go.
44. St. Louis Rams
Davante Adams, Wide Receiver, Fresno State
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=20Y-YGtGFQk
The Rams were patient in the first round with wide receivers and this will reward them. Adams can be a number one receiver if he reaches his potential.
45. Detroit Lions
Pierre Desir, Cornerback, Lindenwood
The Lions passed on adding secondary help in the first round, but Desir will be a great fit in round two.
46. Pittsburgh Steelers
Stephon Tuitt, Defensive Line, Notre Dame
The Steelers need to get younger in the trenches, and Tuitt will provide success right away as a five-technique in Pittsburgh’s defense.
47. Dallas Cowboys
Timmy Jernigan, Defensive Tackle, Florida State
After adding offensive line, the Cowboys need to get stronger along the defensive line. Jernigan can do that for the Dallas defense.
48. Baltimore Ravens
Cody Latimer, Wide Receiver, Indiana
The Ravens add a potential star at the receiver position, despite having needs at a few other positions. Latimer has the ability to be one of the better rookie wide receivers right away.
49. New York Jets
Donte Moncrief, Wide Receiver, Ole Miss
The Jets add another player with a good size/speed ratio in Moncrief. He will try to make the starting unit for New York, but will see plenty of time either way.
50. Miami Dolphins
Xavier Su’a-Filo, Offensive Guard, California-Los Angeles
https://twitter.com/NealDriscoll/status/464630814387757056
The Dolphins could have taken “XSF” in the first, but somehow he falls to the second round to Miami’s delight.
51. Chicago Bears
Will Sutton, Defensive Tackle, Arizona State
After adding secondary in the first round, the Bears shore up their defensive line.
52. Arizona Cardinals
Jace Amaro, Tight End, Texas Tech
The Cardinals have other needs, but they cannot pass on a potential star in Amaro.
53. Green Bay Packers
Austin Seferian-Jenkins, Tight End, Washington
The Packers add the best red zone tight end in this year’s class. “ASJ” is a force to be reckoned with, as he can go up and get the ball with the best pass catchers in this class.
54. Philadelphia Eagles
Terrence Brooks, Safety, Florida State
After adding pass-rush in first round, the Eagles get their safety at 54 in Brooks.
55. Cincinnati Bengals
Kony Ealy, Defensive End, Missouri
Since losing Michael Johnson, the Bengals need to find a replacement for the huge defensive end. Ealy can step in and play right away.
56. San Francisco 49ers
Marcus Martin, Center, Southern California
The 49ers do not have many holes, but Martin has the ability to start right way in San Francisco.
57. San Diego Chargers
Allen Robinson, Wide Receiver, Penn State
#Browns' WR options: Marqise Lee, Davante Adams, Cody Latimer, Allen Robinson, Donte Moncrief, Jordan Matthews. Who ya got?
— Eric Edholm (@Eric_Edholm) May 9, 2014
Despite having Keenan Allen, the Chargers still add a wide receiver. Robinson will be a force offensively right away.
58. New Orleans Saints
Kyle Van Noy, Linebacker, Brigham Young
Van Noy falls to the Saints at 58, and he becomes a great option in Rob Ryan’s defense to rush the passer.
59. Indianapolis Colts
Trai Turner, Offensive Guard, Louisiana State
The Colts finally have a pick, and they add an immediate starter in Turner. It’s amazing that he has fallen so far, but even crazier that the Colts add a starter at 59 overall.
60. Carolina Panthers
Antonio Richardson, Offensive Tackle, Tennessee
“Tiny” lead the Tennessee offense as the left tackle. In Carolina he will need to fill in for a legend in Jordan Gross.
61. San Francisco 49ers
Martavis Bryant, Wide Receiver, Clemson
The ‘Niners seemingly have five picks in each round, so they can just stockpile talented players. Bryant is the definition of a talented player at the wide receiver position with his size/speed combination.
62. New England Patriots
Jarvis Landry, Wide Receiver, Louisiana State
Tom Brady needs a target who can stay healthy. Landry can do that and more, as his hands are among the best in the draft. Reliability on third down is huge for the Patriots, and that is what Landry can bring.
63. Denver Broncos
Weston Richburg, Center, Colorado State
Richburg has been dubbed as one of the best centers in the draft, and the Broncos will be glad to take him at 63.
64. Seattle Seahawks
Billy Turner, Offensive Guard, North Dakota State
The Seahawks add a player with a relentless punch in the running game. He can play guard or tackle, but will be best suited as a guard in the NFL.
