Andy Dalton Wants To Be The “Face” Of The Bengals

Dalton, high on his dose of confident vitamins, seems to think he should be the face for the Bengals as he begins his fourth year with the team. Physically speaking, it certainly seems to make sense as his fiery ginger closely matches the coat of an regal, orange Bengal tiger.

Note the similarities. To Dalton’s credit, he has led the Bengals to three consecutive playoffs, but unfortunately there is a choke factor involved, as the team has failed to make it past the first round of postseason playoffs with Dalton under center.

Dalton responded via Bengals.com when asked if he could be the Bengals face:

Everything that Marvin has said, Hue has said and everybody here has told me that and has told everybody that,” Dalton said, via the team’s official website. “I’m confident of that. I hope to spend a lot of my career here.’

Note that he doesn’t say all of his career here. Unless the teams drafts or signs another quarterback, there’s only veteran Jason Campbell looming in the shadows of Dalton’s path as the team’s leader. Reported by Cbssports.com:

From everything they’ve told me…they’re not bringing in anybody to compete.

Do you think Dalton can move the Bengals to the next level in 2014? I believe he’s really going to have to step it up in the final year of his contract. Perhaps if he actually had tiger’s blood in him, that could happen. A preseason meeting with Charlie Sheen might be beneficial.
