Yes, you read that right. FootGolf. And it’s exactly what it sounds like.
So what exactly is this “FootGolf” I speak of? Well they have their own league and everything. According to footgolf.net’s Official Rulebook:
“The main goal of FootGolf is to get a ball – the circumference of which is not less than 68 cm and not more than 70 cm, and at the beginning of the match its weight is not more than 450 g and not less than 410 g – with the lowest possible number of kicks from the flat area marked as the place for the teeing ground – according to the rules of FootGolf – into a hole placed in at least a fifty meter area and with a diameter of 50 – 53 cm and depth of 30-40 cm.The player is responsible for ensuring that he/she has a proper knowledge of the rules of the game and for the proper interpretation and use of definitions and expressions used in Golf and FootGolf.”
A family member sent me this link and said:
“I’ve finally found a sport where I can have a legitimate chance at becoming a pro in…”
I asked him why he would want to play this new sport and he added:
“I want to play it because it will allow me to kick things and still have the presence of a gentleman.”
I have the strangest feeling this will take off: if not professionally, gentleman, you officially have every bachelor party, and guys’ night figured out for the rest of your life.
