The San Francisco 49ers dismantled the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday Night Football in a game that was billed as the best thus far on the NFL season.
San Francisco took it to Dallas in every which way, winning by the score of 42-10. Second-year quarterback Brock Purdy threw four touchdowns to continue the record-breaking start to his career. The 49ers’ league-best defense got to Dak Prescott for three interceptions in another dominant performance.
The end result was San Francisco moving to 5-0 on the season and running their regular-season winning streak to 15 games — tied for the biggest streak in the history of the franchise.
In order for a team to run off this many consecutive regular-season wins, there has to be some eye-opening numbers. Below, we look at 10 amazing stats from the 49ers’ current run.
Brock Purdy still undefeated in the regular season
In his first 13 starts in the NFL, postseason included, Mr. Irrelevant has won 12 of them. His only loss under center came in the NFC Championship Game when the Iowa State product injured his elbow on the first drive.
Pittsburgh Steelers legend Ben Roethlisberger holds the NFL record with 13 consecutive wins to open his career. At this pace, Purdy could set the new record Nov. 12 against the Jacksonville Jaguars. San Francisco’s next three outings ahead of a Week 9 bye come against the Cleveland Browns and Minnesota Vikings (on the road) and Cincinnati Bengals (at home).

San Francisco 49ers have dropped 30 points or more eight consecutive times
San Francisco headed into Sunday night’s game ranked No. 3 in the NFL in scoring at 31.3 points per game. It ran off three consecutive 30-point outings to open the season before dropping 35 points in Week 4 against the Arizona Cardinals.
Add in the three games to end last season, and the 49ers have now dropped 30 points or more in eight consecutive games. The last time this franchise accomplished a similar feat was back in 1994 when San Francisco scored 30-plus in nine of its final 10 games en route to winning the Super Bowl. This current eight-game run has Kyle Shanahan’s team averaging 35 points per game.

Touchdowns on top of touchdowns
Dating back to Week 4 against the Arizona Cardinals, San Francisco’s past 11 scores have come via touchdowns. The 49ers are 9-of-10 in the red zone during this span, with the only non-touchdown coming after a Christian McCaffrey fumble on Sunday night.
For his part, Purdy has accounted for nine total touchdowns against zero interceptions in the red zone this season. For his career, that number grows to 16 touchdowns and one interception. Just insane stuff there.
San Francisco 49ers are demolishing opponents at home
This 15-game winning streak includes a 9-0 mark at Levi’s Stadium. None of the games have necessarily been that close, either.
Consider this, the 49ers are outscoring their opponents by a margin of 285-111. That’s an average of 32-12 per game at home during this streak.

Including Dak Prescott’s three-interception performance Sunday night, the 49ers’ defense has been a living hell against opposing quarterbacks during this 15-game winning streak. It really is something to behold.

- Christian McCaffrey has now scored a touchdown in 14 consecutive games, breaking Jerry Rice’s all-time franchise record.
