Week 9 fantasy football waiver wire: Quarterbacks

week 9 fantasy football waiver wire: wil levis

Will Levis, Tennessee Titans

Levis made his NFL debut and boy did he knock it out of the park! This makes Levis a top waiver wire target for Week 9. Levis racked up 249 total yards and threw for four TDs in the win on Sunday. Already announced as the Titans Week 9 starter, Levis next plays the Steelers on Thursday Night Football.

Joshua Dobbs, Minnesota Vikings

The Minnesota Vikings moved quickly to find a replacement for Kirk Cousins who is lost for the season with a torn ACL. Former Cardinals quarterback Joshua Dobbs was traded to Minnesota, making him a top fantasy waiver wire QB for Week 9. If your team is ailing at QB, give Dobbs some consideration.

Clayton Tune, Arizona Cardinals

In relation to Dobbs being traded, the Cardinals plan to start Clayton Tune until Kyler Murray can make his way back onto the field. If you’re in dire need of quarterback help, Tune is likely available on all waiver wires in Week 9.

Mitchell Trubisky, Pittsburgh Steelers

If Kenny Pickett remains out with his rib injury, Mitch Trubisky will draw the start in Week 9 in Thursday Night Football. Those struggling to fill a QB spot or Super Flex this week might be forced to pick Trubisky off the Week 9 waiver wire and hope for the best. It can be slim pickings out there.

Week 9 fantasy football waiver wire: Running Backs

week 9 fantasy football waiver wire: cam akers

Leonard Fournette, Buffalo Bills

Fournette will be a top fantasy football waiver wire pickup in Week 9 with his new Buffalo team. The Bills saw fit to add him to the mix when we can expect some sort of fantasy football timeshare with James Cook down the road.

Cam Akers, Minnesota Vikings

After scoring the first rushing touchdown for the Vikings on Sunday, it’s possible Cam Akers will be given more touches. This especially might be the case with rookie Jaren Hall now under center. If he’s on your waiver wire and you’re coming up short for Week 9, give Akers a chance.

Dalvin Cook, New York Jets

Cook is reportedly frustrated with his role in New York and trade rumors are circulating. He might be worth a Week 9 waiver pickup and stash just to see if he migrates to another team. If not, he is still a talented player who might see his role increase if he continues to be a squeaky wheel.

Pierre Strong, Cleveland Browns

Strong ranked second in carries on Sunday for the Browns (10 for 41 yards) behind Kareem Hunt, making him an RB waiver wire target for those barren at the position. The Browns may see fit to keep Strong involved while Jerome Ford aims to get his ankle to 100%.

Week 9 fantasy football waiver wire: Wide Receivers

Jahan Dotson, Washington Commanders

Fresh off of his best fantasy performance to date, (eight catches, 108 yards, and a TD), Jahan Dotson tops the Week 9 waiver wire charts. He may be available due to his earlier season lull. Those who claim him can hope the Commanders keep him busy after such a dazzling performance.

Rashid Shaheed, New Orleans Saints

Hot and cold thus far, Shaheed is a Week 9 waiver wire pickup after he last caught all three of his targets for a massive 153 yards and a touchdown. The Saints will next face the Bears when getting Shaheed the ball to make big plays should still be a priority.

JuJu Smith-Schuster, New England Patriots

It’s not pretty, but Smith-Schuster may be on par for more targets with Kendrick Bourne out for the season with a torn ACL. Those in deep need at WR should take note that Smith-Schuster did catch a touchdown this past Sunday. Paper thin at WR, the Patriots should keep Smith-Schuster involved down the stretch.

Noah Brown, Houston Texans

Aside from Nico Collins, Noah Brown was second in wide receiver targets (five) on Sunday, This makes him a handy waiver wire pickup with Robert Woods out for a handful of games due to a foot injury.

Khalil Shakir, Buffalo Bills

A top waiver wire add at wide receiver, Shakir has seen his targets increase over his last two games. In this stretch, he has caught a perfect 10-of-10 targets for 127 yards. The hope would be Shakir’s involvement keeps up when the Bills head to Cincinnati in Week 9.

Brandin Cooks, Dallas Cowboys

Brandin Cooks’ fantasy points have been on the rise over the past two weeks, making him an appealing option on the Week 9 waiver wire if he’s there for the claiming. In back-to-back games, Cooks has scored touchdowns and recorded 85 total yards.

Week 9 fantasy football waiver wire: Tight Ends

Jake Ferguson, Dallas Cowboys

After a couple of dud fantasy performances, Jake Ferguson may be gracing your Week 9 waiver wire. If so, he’s worth a pickup after catching all four of his targets for 47 yards and a trip to the end zone. He’ll next play a Philly defense that is middle of the road in defending TEs.

Trey McBride, Arizona Cardinals

McBride suited up to impress with Zach Ertz now on IR, garnering 14 targets for 10 receptions, 95 yards, and a touchdown on Sunday. This makes him a Week 9 top TE waiver wire target who should remain fantasy-relevant while Ertz sits out for another few games.

Taysom Hill, New Orleans Saints

If Hill is still available on your Week 9 waiver wire, scoop him up! He has had three games in a row with double-digit fantasy points including his last contest which consisted of a combined 77 rushing and receiving yards and two rushing TDs. Hill also added 44 passing yards to pad his fantasy stats. With that said, the Saints would be foolish to cut his workload.
