At a time without any major sports due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Fox Sports 1 took a chance on eSports this past Sunday with an eNASCAR broadcast. It was an immediate hit with sports fans across the country. Now with a second virtual race set to air on March 29, sports fans can bet on the upcoming action.
After witnessing the massive draw and interest from fans in eNASCAR, they’ve set up betting lines for people to get in on the action. While bettors might be used to betting on the NBA’s playoff race this time of year, eNASCAR now stands alone as the top option with major sports suspended.
Fox Sports announced this week that it will air the remainder of the eNASCAR Pro Invitational iRacing Series. The next race will be broadcasted on FOX Sports 1 at 1 p.m. EST and there will be plenty of bets for fans to take a chance on.
- Will there be a lead change in the last 10 laps? Yes (-400), No (+250)
- Will there be a crash in the last 10 laps? Yes (+150), No (-200)
- How many donuts will be performed by winning driver? Over/under at 3.5
- Will Denny Hamlin race barefoot? Yes (-2500), No (+100)
- Will anything other than the driver be shown in the seat? Yes (-120), No (+120)
Of course, fans can also get involved with who they think will win the O’Reilly Auto Parts 125 at the virtual Texas Motor Speedway. Ty Majeski (+350) is currently the favorite with the likes of Dale Earnhardt Jr (+800) and Denny Hamlin (+800) not far behind him among the likeliest to win.
The virtual race on Sunday will replace the actual O’Reilly Auto Parts 125, which was suspended along with other upcoming NASCAR races due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Now with plenty of drivers looking for ways to still be involved in racing, eNASCAR is offering it.
In the most recent race, Denny Hamlin took part and he’s expected to do it once again. He also might be joined by Ryan Blaney, who recently decided to get involved in the Pro Invitational iRacing Series. Fans will also get to see Bubba Wallace race again and he seemed to be preparing for it throughout the week.
Sports fans are looking for something to fill their entertainment void right now and eSports can be the answer. eNASCAR will offer people exactly what they want to see on Sunday. Better yet for fans, no one has to tense up if there is a huge crash that sends cars flying in the virtual race.
Let’s hope that eNASCAR continues to be a hit and it starts a wave of more eSprots being recognized on the national stage.
