While we often see big wide receivers stun crowds with incredible leaping grabs and one-handed catches, Nebraska Cornhuskers receiver JD Spielman showed that small receivers can do it too.
The 5-foot-9 receiver cut across the middle of the field in Nebraska’s first drive and turned an overthrow by quarterback Adrian Martinez into an incredible one-handed snag while still on the move.
Spielman didn’t even need a few seconds to juggle the football, which could have cost him precious yards. The junior immediately pulled the football into his body at the 40-yard line and kept sprinting downfield before stepping out at Purdue’s 39-yard line.
Given some of the struggles the Cornhuskers have recently experienced, perhaps Martinez needs to get the football to his gifted receiver even more.
