The fallout from the sudden collapse of the AAF is still ongoing.
After the AAF folded, we heard AAF co-founder Bill Polian and Orlando Apollos coach Steve Spurrier vent their frustrations.
And in a series of tweets on Wednesday night, Rich Ohrnberger, analyst for the San Diego Fleet, detailed some of the things that have happened (and in some cases, are still happening) from the league’s demise.
That’s pretty rough. Things are never pretty when a business folds. This is true in sports and in every other walk of life. Some of these issues can perhaps be chalked up to that.
But players paying for injuries sustained in a game for your league? That’s essentially impossible to defend. While it may not seem as bad, expecting people to work for free is even more baffling.
Truer words have never been spoken. This is a complete mess. And we’re not expecting it to get any better any time soon.
