You wouldn’t know that we are in the 21st century by the reaction Lexi Thompson received by some people after appearing on the cover of Golf Digest.
First off, Thompson is looking great (per usual) in the fitness issue of the long-running golf magazine.
For some odd reason people took exception to the LPGA golfer appearing on the cover “topless.”

That’s Sporting Scene editor and The New Yorker web producer showing her disapproval for the cover.
Apparently a strong woman in a position of power in the sports world showing off a little bit of her body is a big deal.
Comparatively…
See a double standard here?
Responding to some of the criticism, Thompson had this to say:
I have more clothes in that picture than a lot of the girls that go to the beach,” Thompson told Fox & Friends Tuesday morning, via Mediaite.com. “I have shoes on, I have shorts on and I have jacket covering me.”
People are funny. Thompson wasn’t in some way setting back 50 years of equal rights growth for women. She was appearing as a fit athlete, and on the cover of a magazine she’s been featured in.
Pick another fight, guys and gals.
