The Cleveland Cavaliers have started the 2014 NBA draft by selecting former Kansas forward Andrew Wiggins with the first overall pick.
Joel Embiid was considered the No. 1 overall prospect prior to foot surgery last week. He’s out for the next few months and may see a slide down the draft board as the night continues.
Wiggins and former Duke standout Jabari Parker were Cleveland’s top choices heading into draft night. Wiggins averaged 17.1 points and 5.9 rebounds per game in his only college season last year.
