The Washington Redskins made headlines Tuesday when they claimed Reuben Foster, the former San Francisco 49ers linebacker.
Foster was released by the 49ers after being charged with domestic violence in Florida before the team’s game with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. This was after a tumultuous offseason where Foster charged with domestic violence (though those charges were dropped) and dealt with guns and drug charges. He was ultimately suspended for two games.
Naturally, this signing created a lot of controversy. NFL fans on Twitter made their opinions heard.
Oh my god the Redskins claimed Reuben Foster. Unreal.

He joins an organization that signed Adrian Peterson, so it makes a ton of sense. pic.twitter.com/AtyIE1gWgI

A week after Adrian Peterson admits to still hitting his kid the Redskins claim Reuben Foster off waivers.Their nominee for Walter Payton Award winner probably will just have to hold a door open for a stranger to be nominated.

We’re not surprised to see this kind of fallout. And make no mistake, we’re absolutely going to hear more in the coming days and weeks.
