Philadelphia Eagles’ turmoil could lead to ‘high-profile’ player’s departure

After reaching the Super Bowl in 2023, the Philadelphia Eagles began the season strongly, with a 10-1 record. But then Nick Sirianni’s team lost five of their next six matchups, shattering the confidence of the Eagles just as the playoffs kicked off.

To no surprise, the Eagles weren’t prepared for their Wild Card matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, getting worked over in a 32-9 loss. We already knew there was some internal friction in Philadelphia, which led to the demotion and eventual departure of defensive coordinator Sean Desai.

But now a media member is saying the Eagles experienced an issue that would ruin the chemistry of any locker room.

Philadelphia Eagles’ problem ‘can’t be fixed’

The general public may not know exactly what contributed to the Philadelphia Eagles’ decline, but FS1’s Craig Carton says he knows exactly what happened.

“It is a problem that would splinter any group of men — any group of men. It is a real significant problem and it cannot be fixed. . . . I’m not gonna tell you more than that. I know what the problem was. I know they’re trying to fix it. I don’t think it can be fixed. So it will be very interesting to see if a high-profile player is no longer with the Eagles.”

The most fascinating part about Carton’s reveal is his suggestion that a ‘high-profile’ player could move on from the Eagles this offseason, stemming from whatever incident happened. As Carton says, he doesn’t think the Eagles’ issues can be fixed.

Meanwhile, now everyone’s curiosity about what really happened in Philadelphia has peaked. How did a once-great team fall apart so quickly? It’s possible we’ll never know the truth.
