New Orleans Saints star running back Alvin Kamara has pleaded no contest to a lesser charge stemming from an incident in a Las Vegas nightclub during Pro Bowl weekend back in February of 2022.
According to Justin Walker of 8 News Now in Las Vegas, the Pro Bowl running back pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor charge of breach of peace. He will have to do 30 hours of community service and pay more than $100,000 to the victim to help with hospital bills. Kamara avoids jail time.
Kamara, 27, was originally indicted by a Nevada Grand Jury on charges of conspiracy to commit battery and battery resulting in substantial bodily harm. According to police, video evidence showed Kamara punching a man eight times. The victim was knocked unconscious and sustained an orbital fracture to his right eye.
The victim in question, Darnell Greene, filed a $10 million civil suit in Louisiana back in October of 2022. It remains to be seen where that case stands.

As you can see, Kamara has proven to be among the top all-around running backs in the NFL since he entered the league as a third-round pick out of Tennessee back in 2017.
Despite reaching this plea deal, the Pro Bowler still faces discipline by the NFL. Now that the case is closed, said discipline could come down at any point before the start of New Orleans Saints training camp later this month.
