Sports bettors are firmly behind the Houston Astros for Game 1 of the World Series on Tuesday.
The Astros are favored by 1.5 runs and backed by almost 80 percent of total game-result related tickets, which also include moneyline bettors at DraftKings.
Prop bets are being played heavily, including massive support for Braves right-hander Charlie Morton to top 4.5 strikeouts in the game. The over bet is -120 but more than 60 percent of bettors are aiming high with Morton’s K total.
Morton, -125 to go over 4.5 whiffs at DraftKings, has the public support “to throw more (97% of handle on the Over) and (Framber) Valdez to throw less (65% of handle on the Under).”

BetRivers sportsbook manager Zach Schlouch noted the Morton support and action of household names to hit home runs.
“We’re seeing very good two-way action on the series market, with the Braves owning a slight majority on the ticket count but handle split nearly down the middle. In terms of props and derivative markets, MVP is always very popular. Right now, we’re seeing quite a bit of interest in (Freddie) Freeman, (Carlos) Correa and Alvarez, while (Austin) Riley and (Kyle) Tucker are examples of guys with a bit longer odds who have generated good action. We’re also running a special prop promo for each of the World Series games: any real-money bet on a player to hit a home run will be refunded up to $50 as a free bet if your player doesn’t homer but records an RBI.”
At FanDuel, 98 percent of the money is on the series going at least five games. The over 4.5 odds are up to -800 at FanDuel.
