Did Tom Brady get the itch to return to the NFL at all during the 2023 season? Maybe we’ll never know, but it’s hard to imagine arguably the greatest quarterback of all time didn’t have some level of interest in sparking his competitive fire at some point throughout the year.

It’s not like there weren’t plenty of needs either. Just look at all the different quarterbacks who have started a game at some point this season. Heck, they even had to pull Joe Flacco off the couch, and all he did was lead the Cleveland Browns to the playoffs.

So, could a 46-year-old Brady still sling it? We certainly wouldn’t bet against him, especially after TB12 passed for 4,694 yards a season ago.

While Brady may still have plenty of life left in his right arm, what about the desire? As mentioned, did he get that itch to return for a 24th season?

It’s hard to know for sure, but Brady, while toasting to the end of 2023, while looking ahead to 2024, couldn’t help but get our emotions stirred up on another NFL Sunday.

This time, the future Hall of Fame QB took to Instagram, where he said he “was about to unretire in May.”

Here’s Brady’s full statement.

“Looking back on 2023 grateful for every moment. Cherishing the highs, learning from the lows, and looking forward to what’s coming next. I’m blessed to have family and friends filled with so much love, joy, and compassion surrounding me. As you get older, you realize that this is really the only thing that matters, and I’ll never take these people for granted. Hug your kids, call your parents, tell your friends that you love them, and let’s all help make 2024 a kinder and happier year for everyone in our lives ❤️

(PS: The only downside to 2023 was when I was about to unretire in May and my friends threw a surprise retirement party. Kind of forced my hand 😂)”

Tom Brady stirring up emotions in the hearts of football fans

Come on Brady, don’t play with our hearts like that, just tell us you’re coming back for 2024 already. The New England Patriots surely wouldn’t mind.
