The New York Jets have one of the worst quarterback situations in the NFL. That fact is not lost on head coach Todd Bowles.
Speaking to the media, Bowles didn’t exactly express a ton of confidence in quarterback Josh McCown.

Indeed, someone has to be the quarterback. Christian Hackenberg has pelted members of the media with errant passes not once, but twice, in the span of a week. So, by default, it’s down to McCown and Bryce Petty, who got banged up at the end of the 2016 season.
Since the days of Joe Namath, the Jets have routinely had less than desirable quarterback situations. Still, this one might just be the worst.
The good news is that nobody has to tell Bowles. The bad news for New York fans is that the 2017 season seems completely hopeless, and it’s still three months away from beginning.
