Golden State Warriors stars Klay Thompson and Draymond Green were being relied on to do their thing against the Minnesota Timberwolves Tuesday night with Stephen Curry (knee) sidelined.
About that? These two future Hall of Famers didn’t last as much as two minutes in the game. Both were ejected after a major ado against Minnesota.
It started with Thompson getting tied up with Timberwolves veteran Jaden McDaniels. Thompson and McDaniels went at it with both being ejected. Meanwhile, Green got into it with Rudy Gobert and was ejected, too, after being handed a Flagrant 2.
The scene inside San Francisco’s Chase Center was absolutely crazy.
We’re not exactly sure what Thompson is expected to do here after McDaniels legitimately ripped his jersey. In coming to the defense of his teammate, Green put Gobert in a head lock. It earned him that Flagrant 2 and the ejection.
Draymond Green was ejected this past weekend for getting into it with Cleveland Cavaliers guard Donovan Mitchell, too.
For some watching the game, Green has clearly become unhinged in recent games and should be treated accordingly by the NBA league office.
Green’s reputation is by now well known. The same thing can’t be said about Thompson, who is usually a bit reserved and quiet on the court. That obviously wasn’t the case Tuesday night in San Francisco.
As for the game itself, the Golden State Warriors are without three of their four future Hall of Famers as they look to win a second consecutive in the in-season tournament while avoiding a fourth consecutive defeat in the regular season.
As you might imagine, reactions to the triple ejections were pretty widespread throughout the social media world.
