The Dallas Cowboys are just days removed from their toughest moment of the season, a 48-32 loss to the Green Bay Packers in the Wild Card round. With the loss, team owner Jerry Jones has a lot of decisions to contemplate over the next few months, trying to figure out where it all went wrong.

Yet, despite the Cowboys’ season ending on a somber note, Jones is back in the good graces of at least one Dallas fan’s family, thanks to a heartwarming handwritten note.

Dallas Cowboys fan Tim Washington planned to take his father to their first game together when the Washington Commanders were in town back on November 23.

But before the two could make it to the game, Tim’s dad collapsed and died just 100 yards away from the stadium. The Washington family has been grieving ever since.

Somehow, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones heard about the Washington family and extended his condolences by writing a letter, indicating how humbled he was by their passion and how heartbroken he was to hear of their loss.

In addition to the note signed by Jones, he also sent food, flowers, and a card to the Washington family. Washington was so moved by Jones’ actions that he took to Facebook to share his experience, which has since gone viral. Here’s Washington’s post, shared by Ed Werder.
