The Cleveland Browns are apparently looking at every possibility to find a left tackle ahead of next week’s NFL trade deadline.
According to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports, Cleveland is interested in high-priced New York Giants left tackle Nate Solder.
As the report notes, Cleveland’s first choice is holdout Washington Redskins left tackle Trent Williams. However, Washington does not appear to be in a hurry to trade him.
The drop off between these two couldn’t be more dramatic. More of a product of Tom Brady’s quick release during a stellar seven-year career with the Patriots, Solder has not been the same playing since signing in New York back in 2018.
According to Pro Football Focus, he has allowed 26 quarterback pressures and five sacks in seven games this season.
Solder, 31, has two seasons remaining on the four-year, $62 million deal he signed with the Giants.
