Chicago Bears’ offensive lineman Matt Slauson might be taking his support of Jay Cutler a bit too far. The offensive lineman had this to say regarding his signal caller on WGN radio.
I have every confidence in (Cutler) — his ability, his intelligence. The guy can be the best in the league. We just have to do a better job, as a team, supporting him. We didn’t do a very good job of that last year.
Jay can be every bit of a Tom Brady, a Peyton Manning, an Aaron Rodgers. He can be them, if not more.
So there you have it. We just read someone mentioning Cutler in the same breath as Peyton Manning, Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady. Sadly, the Bears brass also seems to have at least some confidence in Cutler. They plan on starting the embattled signal caller moving forward.
It is nice to see Slauson stand up for Cutler. but he probably should have stopped before bringing up those three quarterbacks. The year that Cutler ever reaches that level is the same year that Marc Trestman returns to the Windy City and leads the team to the Super Bowl.
