Report: Broncos listening to Chris Harris trade offers

Chris Harris

Denver Broncos cornerback Chris Harris demanded a trade on Tuesday, upset about a lack of progress on any long-term contract negotiations.

On Wednesday, Nicki Jhabvala of The Athletic reported the Broncos are listening to trade offers for Harris. She said that teams were already interested in Harris before his trade demand, but noted “Elway won’t give him away” and that “any offer would have to be reflective of his value.”

Harris is valuable, to be sure. He’s been consistently one of the league’s best corners since early in his career, earning four Pro Bowl appearances. An undrafted rookie out of Kansas back in 2011, Harris has been remarkably durable and effective.

Since becoming a full-time starter in 2012, Harris has tallied 18 interceptions, 74 passes defensed, and four touchdowns. A complete player, he has also racked up 471 tackles and 4.5 sacks.

If a trade goes down, we’d expect it to occur at some point before or during the 2019 NFL Draft.
