The Houston Rockets will now have another running partner to team up with All-Star guards Chris Paul and James Harden.
As has been bandied about over the past several weeks, 10-time All-Star Carmelo Anthony will soon be a member of the Rockets.
According to multiple media reports, Anthony cleared waivers on Wednesday and will sign a one-year, $2.4 million veteran minimum deal with the Rockets.
Carmelo Anthony passes through waivers at 5 PM ET, clearing way for him to inform Houston that he will sign a one-year, $2.4M deal with Rockets.

This comes after the future Hall of Famer was traded by the Oklahoma City Thunder to the Atlanta Hawks, only to be waived by Atlanta shortly thereafter.
Despite Anthony’s career-worst performance in his only season with the Thunder, this fills a major hole for Houston. Last year’s starting small forward Trevor Ariza signed a one-year deal with Phoenix during free agency, leaving a spot at the wing for the Rockets.
Anthony, 34, averaged 16.2 points and 5.8 rebounds on 40 percent shooting from the field last season.
