The Los Angeles Chargers won’t have Hunter Henry the rest of the season after placing him on injured reserve. As we passed along Monday, Henry has a lacerated kidney, so it only makes sense to shut him down for the rest of the season.
According to Eric Williams of ESPN, the team is promoting offensive tackle Brett Boyko as a corresponding roster move.
The second-year tight end out of Arkansas has become a key weapon for the Chargers the past couple of years. Before being injured on Sunday, Henry had caught 45 passes for 579 yards and four touchdowns in 2017. His rookie season, he caught 36 passes for 478 yards and eight touchdowns.
Fantasy owners take note: Antonio Gates caught a touchdown against the Chiefs. The veteran will likely see much more action with Henry out of the lineup the final two weekends of the season.
