As expected, the New Orleans Saints have reportedly signed former San Diego Chargers linebacker Manti Te’o to a free agency contract.
ESPN’s Mike Triplett reports it is a two-year deal, though the terms were not disclosed at this time.

Though health problems have somewhat plagued his early career (Te’o missed 13 games with an Achilles tear last year), when healthy Te’o has been a capable starter. He’s started in 31 games throughout his first four years, registering 233 total tackles, 1.5 sacks, two interceptions and one forced fumble.
Te’o will likely compete for a starting spot against fellow free agent A.J. Klein, who was an underrated signing and could make a huge difference for the Saints. The two of them joined Dannell Ellerbe, Craig Robertson and Stephone Anthony to give the Saints a competitive group who should help the defense improve in 2017.
