Baltimore Orioles pitcher Ubaldo Jimenez was ejected from Friday night’s game against the Boston Red Sox for allegedly hitting Pablo Sandoval on purpose.
Whether or not it actually was doesn’t matter; Jimenez lasered one into the front shoulder of Sandoval.
According to ESPN’s Buster Olney, the umpire may have tossed Jimenez because the off-target pitch could have been retaliation for a dirty slide by Sandoval into Baltimore second baseman Jonathan Schoop.
For those asking: Sandoval went in hard at 2B earlier, taking out Schoop. Sandoval HBP; Jimenez ejected. Ump must've thought these linked.

Jimenez exited the game after 3 2/3 innings of no-hit baseball.
