The Detroit Tigers claimed Edwin Uceta off waivers from the Arizona Diamondbacks on Wednesday, giving the right-hander a chance with his third different organization in three seasons.
Uceta, 25, is 0-3 with a 6.27 ERA in 24 appearances (one start) over two seasons with the Los Angeles Dodgers and Diamondbacks. He had a 5.82 ERA in 10 relief outings with Arizona last season.
The native of the Dominican Republic was placed on waivers when the Diamondbacks signed third baseman Evan Longoria to a free-agent deal.
