Recently, Witten made it clear in an interview that he did miss the game and that he actually wanted to play last year. It’s also noteworthy that his pursuit as a broadcaster was an abject failure last season.
Still, this is a huge shock. Witten is going to be 37 once the 2019 NFL season rolls around, and his production dropped off during his final seasons with the Cowboys before he retired.
Needless to say, Witten’s decision to return to the game stunned the sports world.
