Seattle Seahawks star Jamal Adams ruled out in 1st game back since Week 1 of 2022

Seattle Seahawks star safety Jamal Adams suffered a torn quad tendon in the second quarter of his team’s opener against the Denver Broncos last season.

The former Pro Bowler has spent the past 13 months doing everything possible to rehab and recover from the injury since then.

He finally made his return to action Monday night against the New York Giants.

“He (Adams) is so ready. As jacked up and excited of a player as he is, we’ve just got to keep him calmed down. I’ve already started talking to him about that so he doesn’t lose his brains because he’s so fired up to play.”

Unfortunately, Adams left on the first possession of the game after he took a knee to the head. Adams was evaluated in the medical tent on the sideline before ultimately being ruled out under the NFL’s concussion protocol.

As you can see here, the star safety really wanted to go back in the game. Officials on the sideline were not going to let it happen.

Adams had made one of his patented pre-injury plays earlier in the game. As you can see, he was excited about being back on the field.

Injuries continue to plague Seattle Seahawks star Jamal Adams

A first-round pick of the New York Jets back in 2017, Adams was acquired by Seattle in a blockbuster trade ahead of the 2020 season. He earned his third consecutive Pro Bowl with the Seahawks that season, but has struggled to stay on the field since.

Set to turn 28 later in October, Adams has missed 26 of a possible 53 games since the end of the 2020 campaign.

We hate to say that a head injury is good news. But in the grand scheme of things, it should be a shorter-term absence in comparison to what we’ve seen from the former LSU standout over the past several seasons.
