Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III will be working on his sliding technique after taking a few rough hits this past week. whics caused bruising to his thigh.
Gruden on QB @RGIII sliding/not sliding: "He has to understand, and he does understand, that the QB is a very important position."

Griffin’s reckless moves in a win over Cleveland on Monday night are of concern for head coach Jay Gruden, who had this to comment to the Associated Press (h/t NFL.com).
It’s something we have to continue to talk to him about — how important he is to this team and this franchise. When he gets out of the pocket, he needs to protect himself.
After making a few clumsy slide attempts, Griffin has promised that he’ll get better at his technique in order to lessen the number of hits he takes.
Just want y'all to know I will keep working on getting down and not take those bigs hits. Got it right the third time

Griffin also had this to say (via USA Today).
I understand the concern. So don’t worry. I’m taking heed to it. I understand the process.
Coincidentally enough, RGIII seems to believe that his careless attempts actually count as textbook slides. Considering that a textbook slide would have gotten him out of the situation below, that’s far from the truth.
Perhaps RGIII can get together with Baltimore Orioles’ Adam Jones to get some sliding pointers.
My man @RGIII come through Bmore and I'll get u sliding in no time pimp. Keep u healthy #StayHungry
