The Buffalo Bills appear to have special plans for veteran running back Reggie Bush. This at least according to head coach Rex Ryan, who seems to be quite smitten with his new running back.
“First off, with Reggie Bush, he’s such a talent but we want him to be almost like that Ferrari that we unleash and let people be like“Oh man, he’s out there!” But I also don’t want to run him into the ground,” Ryan said per Connor Orr of NFL.com.”
The words that come out of Ryan’s mouth never cease to amuse us. The Bills now have what could be a one-two punch with Bush’s pass-catching abilities and LeSean McCoy’s speed. However for the duo to perform at a high level, both guys need to remain healthy.
After Bush was signed to a one-year deal earlier this week, it was noted that he might be featured more heavily in the return game.
Though, endurance has been an issue for the 31-year-old running back. In fact, he has not played in a full 16-game slate since the 2012 season, missing a total of 21 games over the past two years.
If Bush can keep impressing Ryan throughout training camp and the preseason, it appears he will be a lock to earn a spot on the 53-man roster.
