Even before the official start of free agency, the Los Angeles Rams have been extremely active. Most of the focus for general manager Les Snead and Co. has been on the offensive side of the ball.
It was reported earlier on Thursday that Los Angeles will sign Pro Bowl left tackle Andrew Whitworth to a three-year contract. That’s a massive move to help young quarterback Jared Goff improve under center.
Now comes this report from ESPN’s Adam Schefter indicating that the Rams are going to get Goff even more help. This time, it comes in the form of Buffalo Bills wide receiver Robert Woods.
Barring any snags, Robert Woods intends to sign a 5-year, $39 million deal, including $15 million guaranteed, with Rams, per sources.

Los Angeles needed to add a starting receiver with Kenny Britt signing in Cleveland.
Woods, 24, put up 51 receptions for 613 yards and one touchdown with the Bills last season. A former second-round pick out of USC, his best season came back in 2014 when he snagged 65 balls for nearly 700 yards and five scores.
Nearly $8 million a season for a receiver of Woods’ ilk seems to be an overpay, but the Rams simply need to find Goff help on offense after the former No. 1 overall pick struggled as a rookie.
That could come in the form of a player in Woods who returns to his Southern California roots after a four-year stint in Western New York.
