This couldn’t have come at a worst time for free agent guard Patrick Mills, who sparked the San Antonio Spurs during their championship run last month. According to various reports, the guard will miss several months after suffering a shoulder injury.
Bad news & bad timing for Patty Mills @Patty_Mills The aussie basketball star facing 7 months on the sidelines with a shoulder injury

Mills was slated to get a ton of action on the free agent market prior to this news breaking. He’s now probably going to have to take a back seat and look for a short-term deal in order to prove that he is healthy in the second half of the 2014-2015 season.
As terrible as it sounds, this potentially increases the Spurs’ chances of retaining the valuable point guard. Prior to the injury, it was believed that Mills had priced himself out of San Antonio’s market.
A torn rotator cuff, which is the injury that it’s being reported Mills suffered, requires months of extensive rehabilitation prior to even taking on basketball workouts. It’s a serious injury that will have a major impact on Mills’ stock on the open market. Such an unfortunate situation for a player that seemed destined for greener pastures this offseason.
