There was some concern in Seattle that Lynch’s holdout would last a tad longer. Head coach Pete Carroll and general manager John Schneider have both spoken publicly about Lynch’s contract situation, indicating that they expect him to honor it and report to camp.
The veteran runing back really didn’t have any leverage here. Seattle wasn’t going to negotiate another contract with Lynch, which was an indication that all the running back accomplished by holding out was the loss of hundreds of thousands of dollars.
As a key part to Seattle’s Super Bowl winning club from a season ago, it was important that Lynch reported to camp at some point in the not-so-distant future. It now appears that day will be Friday. All you fans in the Pacific Northwest can now exhale.
