The Detroit Lions have had an active first few days of free agency, making some questionable moves in the process. This is not one of those times.
According to Jordan Schultz of ESPN, Detroit has signed recently-released former Atlanta Falcons Pro Bowl cornerback Desmond Trufant.
Trufant, 29, earned a Pro Bowl appearance with the Falcons in 2015. He’s an original first-round pick of the team back in 2013.
Once considered one of the best cover guys in the NFL, Trufant regressed this past season. With that said, he was still able to put up four interceptions in nine games.
This move comes with Detroit looking to trade fellow Pro Bowl corner Darius Slay in the not-so-distant future.
