This shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise. Future Hall of Fame forward Kevin Garnett is leaning towards returning to the Brooklyn Nets for his second season with the team.Â

Garnett, who was acquired with Paul Pierce from the Boston Celtics last offseason, averaged just 6.5 points and 6.6 rebounds per game for Brooklyn this past regular season. His play has fallen off considerably over the past couple seasons and he’s nothing more than a decent bench option at this point.
The 19-year NBA veteran is set to earn $12 million in the final year of his contract next season. Maybe the Nets should hope that Garnett changes his mind and hangs them up. That’s a whole heck of a lot of dough for someone who put up less than seven points per outing last year.
