Pete Rose To Be in Attendance at All-Star Game in Cincinnati

According to Cincinnati Reds owner Bob Castellini, Pete Rose will be showing his face this summer at the All-Star Game in Cincinnati.

Despite being considered one of the greatest players of all-time, Rose is not in the Hall of Fame. He was banned from the game in 1989 for betting on baseball and has yet to be reinstated. There was some hope that Commissioner Bud Selig would reinstate Rose prior to his tenure coming to an end this upcoming Sunday, but that seems to be a long-shot at this point.

Many have indicated that after a quarter-century long absence from the game, one of baseball’s all-time greats should be allowed back in. It remains to be see if Rose will continue to campaign new commissioner Rob Manfred, but the 2015 All-Star Game in Cincinnati could put this front and center.

Rose hit .303 with with 160 homers and 1,314 RBI in 24 seasons. He is also the all-time leader in games played, plate appearances, at-bats and hits.
