An awful, yet hilarious, stat about the New York Jets‘ messy quarterback situation over the last 15 years was continued after they decided to move on from Aaron Rodgers this week.
Aaron Rodgers’ tenure with the New York Jets was a disaster. When the franchise traded for the Green Bay Packers legend two years ago the hope was that he would be the missing piece to a Super Bowl contender. Instead, he missed all of his first season after rupturing his Achilles. Then despite being healthy throughout 2024, the team finished with a sad 5-12 record.

New York Jets have had 15 different QBs since their last playoff win
Maybe more than any franchise in NFL history, the New York Jets have struggled for decades to find and develop franchise quarterbacks. They have used many Day 1 and 2 draft picks on quarterbacks hoping they would give them their first legitimate franchise QB since Joe Namath.
Over the last 15 years, the team has failed multiple times trying to find a franchise QB in the draft. That is why they turned to Aaron Rodgers two years ago. However, he was a miserable failure in New York as well. Following his divorce from the team he became the 15th different starting QB they have had since winning their last playoff game in 2010.
The last player to lead the New York Jets to a playoff victory? 2009 NFL Draft bust Mark Sanchez. CBS’ graphic features six former first-round picks — three by other teams — including Zach Wilson, Sam Darnold, and Sanchez.
