Following Sunday’s game against the Chicago Cubs, New York Mets pitcher Jason Vargas got into it with a reporter in the clubhouse and had to be separated.
Mike Puma of the New York Post shared that Vargas was going after Tim Healey of Newsday when he had to be separated.
Additionally, Mets manager Mickey Callaway was cursing out the same reporter before Vargas challenged him to a fight.
It’s unknown exactly what was the source of all the tension.
Vargas last pitched on Friday. He went just 4.2 innings, giving up four runs, two of which were earned.
